OVERVIEW


ParaPlan Connect is a tool that allows Riders and Mobility Managers the ability to request rides online.




VOCABULARY



  • Rider: An individual that is taking a ride.

  • Mobility Manager: An individual that can request rides on behalf of Riders.

  • Agency: The public transit agency or transportation company that uses ParaPlan Desktop to manage their on-demand transportation.

  • PIN: Personal Identification Number. A way to verify a rider without a password. A PIN is the Rider’s social security number, ADA number or phone number.

PREREQUISITES



Rider:



  • Rider must be using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

  • Rider must have email registered with Agency and a password to ParaPlan.

  • Alternatively, Rider can use PIN to log in for the first time, then create a password.




Mobility Manager:



  • Mobility Manager must be using the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari.

  • Mobility Manager must be a registered user of ParaPlan with mapped funding sources.

  • Mobility Manager must have permission from Rider to request rides.




Agency:



  • Agency must be using ParaPlan Mobile and ParaPlan Cloud.

  • Agency should make sure that all Riders have email addresses stored in the system. Email address has been moved to the front page of the Client window for this reason.

  • Agency should make sure that Riders have one of the following pieces of data stored:



    • Social Security Number

    • ADA ID

    • Phone Number



Riders will use this information to login for the first time and create a password.

  • Agency must create ParaPlan User for Mobility Managers that want to request rides. Set the email address and password, then select Program Admin from the user type and check all the programs that the Mobility Manager can administer.



USAGE



Rider:



  1. Navigate to ParaPlan Connect (https://connect.paraplansoftware.com)

  2. Login with email address and password. If you do not have a password, click “Use a PIN instead” and enter PIN as defined above.

  3. Populate Trip Request with:

  4. Pick Up and Drop Off Location

  5. Desired Pick Up OR Appointment time

  6. Click Request Trip

  7. Verify the details and wait for email confirmation.

  8. Click Request return trip to book a second leg if needed.



Mobility Manager



Navigate to ParaPlan Connect (https://connect.paraplansoftware.com)

Login with email address and password.

Scroll or filter to find Rider that would like to request a trip.

Click Request Trip to open Trip Request Window

Populate Trip Request with:

Pick Up and Drop Off Location

Desired Pick Up OR Appointment time

Click Request Trip

Verify the details and wait for email confirmation.

Click Request return trip to book a second leg if needed.

Agency

Set up Trip Requests:

Click Favorites

Click Add/Edit Favorites

Check TripRequests, then Save and Close

Pending Trip Requests will now be in your sidebar of ParaPlan Desktop

Triage Trip Requests:

Click Favorites

Click Pending Trip Requests

Click on a pending request to view details

Click Accept (or Reject if applicable. This will email the Rider or Mobility Manager with a rejection notice)

A new one-time, one-way Reservation will be generated and populated into a new window.

Change or add any needed information, then Save. This will generate an acceptance email to the Rider or Mobility Manager

The generated Trip can be scheduled from the bottom of the Reservation window, or from the Scheduling Canvas.
